The Backseat Tigers - a midwest comedy film
Donation protected
My name is Tim Vacanti and I am a multimedia storyteller (and recent Film and Video alumni of Grand Valley State University) based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’m the writer and director of an upcoming indie mockumentary called “The Backseat Tigers”.
This film follows four young adults, each navigating the challenges of perseverance, power, and self-discovery while simultaneously prepping for an off-the-cuff rock and roll performance at their high school homecoming pep assembly. Throughout their journey, we get a glimpse into these characters, both in front and behind the camera. Because what’s a band without a backstory?
I’ve been working on the concept of this film for a couple of years, while recently spending this past year writing the script. From one’s dream to kickstarting their band, to another living the moment in “royalty,” this story is about the weird but fun parts of growing up that stick with you. The awkwardness, the humor, the challenges. All these experiences make us who we are, and I wanted to capture that authenticity in a way that resonates with both the characters and the audience.
However, we need your help. Any donation helps towards the development of this project. This includes compensating our actors, procuring props, renting equipment, securing locations, and eventually delivering the completed product to film festivals. Any donation, regardless of its size, is greatly appreciated. Donors will be credited in the final credits of the film, but they can choose to remain anonymous if they prefer. If you can’t contribute financially, sharing our page would be very helpful as well!
Thank you for your time and support!
