The Arya Fund

Donation protected
Thanks for stopping by to read our story... The beginning of us is towards the end.

All funds will go to Arya's treatment.

Arya is currently suffering from an unknown ailment. She is swollen in her abdomen and sometimes has to drag her legs while walking. Other times she is fine to walk, but goes slow with heavy panting, not wanting to go more than a meter.

They don't know if it's musculoskeletal or something internally.

She needs blood work and X-rays. The estimate for that is $1150. That doesn't cover what ever will come next.

Arya is everything amazing that I have in my life. She always has been since day one.

THE STORY OF US:
Arya and I joined forces on August 20th, 2016. I am disabled and back then I just needed a companion. She was this tiny little puppy that could fit into my one hand.

I found Arya on a Facebook Garage Sale page, before they had marketplace. I saw the post, which already had 17 likes and just as many comments. The person wanted $20 for her re-homing fee.

I saw that post and it was instant connection. I knew we were meant to be together. I DM-ed the person and we talked and before I knew it I was on a 5 hour round trip to pick up Arya.

Named after Arya Stark from GOT. This is because she's always underfoot, everyone thinks she's a boy, and her tail is a needle. Oh, and we can't forget the sass. #iykyk

In 2019, Arya went from being a companion dog to a service dog after I had 5 back to back seizures over 6 weeks. I had never had a seizure before. She notified me of the second one which I didn't catch what she was doing. The third one, I started to recognize her cues, but just a little too late, and on the 4th one I was driving down the freeway when she alerted me and I was able to pull over safely and call for help. After that day, she went everywhere with me as my epilepsy alert dog.

In 2021, Arya was attacked by two large dogs and she almost lost her leg. We halted the services she provided for me indefinitely as I re-trained her to be non-reactive around dogs again. After 16 months, she completed her non-reactive training again, however she was not placed back into service, she stayed a companion.

Until October 2023, I had my first seizure in 4 years. Arya has been back in service since. Every where I go, she goes; to work, the ambulance ride, in the hospital, it doesn't matter, wherever I go she goes.

In January 2024, while out on disability, I was laid off. I am now on limited income.

On July 18th, 2024, after having a brain scan in June, I was diagnosed with a walnut sized brain cyst and MS. The cyst is causing a lot of issues like seizures, a non-stop headache for months now, intermittent vision blindness, and memory loss.

Losing Arya would decimate my entire world. We just lost Kali our cat at 22 years old on March 29, 2024 due to natural causes. We need each other more than ever right now.

And I feel like a failure for not being able to give her the help she needs. I am trying to be kind to myself as I ask others for help, but it's hard with everything going on.

We will take anything you can bless us with. The $.01 in your Venmo or CashApp account would be just as appreciated as anything greater.

Anything helps and thank you so much for even reading this long thread.
