If you know Arturo, you know his heart. He’s an incredible son, brother you can lean on, amazing boyfriend, loyal friend, your Salsero Realtor, Dance instructor, and DJ who brings joy and energy to everyone around him. More than anything, Arturo is the kind of person who always shows up for others.

For the past year, Arturo has been bravely fighting a rare and aggressive bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma for the third time. Even through treatments, he continued working, teaching, dancing, and pouring love into the community that means so much to him.

Recently, what we thought would be a simple in-and-out ER visit turned into the doctors discovering the cancer had spread to his head and other areas of his body. In just two days, Arturo is undergoing urgent surgery to remove a tumor in his head.

If you know Arturo, you know he’s a fighter. One of his favorite quotes from Kobe Bryant says it best:

“We do not quit. We do not cower. We do not run. We endure and we conquer.” That isn’t just a quote he loves, it truly reflects who Arturo is to the core. Now more than ever we are leaning on God and trusting in His promises. We believe in the power of prayer and the strength that comes when a community comes together in the name of Jesus.

As Arturo focuses on healing, the road ahead will include covering the cost of this surgery, medical expenses, treatments, and life in general. Our hopes are to get referred to MD Anderson Hospital one of the best hospitals which on a yearly basis out of pocked it is $10k. Arturo has always worked hard, working 3 jobs which he is incredibly passionate about but right now his focus needs to be on fighting for his future ahead and recovery.
