Hi, my name is LaQuet Sharnell Pringle, founder of Fearless Young Artists Studios. I’m honored to share that my company has been selected to present original work at the 2026 DUMBO Dance Festival in New York City.
FYA Studios will present The Art of Becoming (Agreement (Still) into The Passing of Time) as part of the festival’s closing performance on Saturday, June 27, at 4 PM.
This moment represents years of dedication, artistry, and community—and now, I’m asking for your support to help bring this work fully to life.
The Work
Agreement (Still) into The Passing of Time is a contemporary choreographic work exploring memory, endurance, and transformation through a physical language rooted in clarity, repetition, and breath.
This piece centers the quiet, internal negotiations we make over time—and what it means to move forward while carrying what has shaped us.
WHY THIS MATTERS
This project is not just about one performance.
It is about:
- Paying artists for their time and labor
- Creating access to professional performance opportunities
- Building sustainable pathways for working dancers in NYC
At a time when many artists are asked to work without compensation, this project is a commitment to doing things differently.
HOW FUNDS WILL BE USED
Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting the artists and bringing this work to the stage.
Your support directly funds:
- $2,400 → Artist Pay (10 dancers, 1 understudy, 1 stage manager)
- $180 → Rehearsal Space
- $200 → Costumes
- $2,220 → Production support, marketing, documentation, and audience outreach
Total Goal: $5,000
TIMELINE
We are raising these funds by June 1, 2026, in preparation for our performance at the DUMBO Dance Festival (June 26–28).
FYA Studios will perform “The Art of Becoming” on Saturday, June 27, at 4 pm.
