Hello! We are the KDP sorority at West Virginia University, and we are hoping to raise money to donate back to a South African school. KDP is a national Honors society for Education, and through this service project, we are emphasizing our values of diversity, equity, and empathy for all students.

In May, twenty education students from WVU travelled to South Africa to volunteer at The Ark City of Refuge school in Cape Town. Through this experience, we have been inspired to help students who may have limited resources or come from marginalized communities that need extra support. The Ark City of Refuge is an amazing organization that relies on donations to stay running, so they can further help people/children in need of education, housing, sobriety programs, and faith-based counselling.

Our main priority/goal is to make an everlasting impact on these students who have made such an impact on us. These students are in desperate need of school supplies, whether it is books, markers, pencils, a soccer ball, etc. Any donations would be gratefully appreciated, especially since a "small" amount for us goes a long way for them. These students have changed our perspectives for the better, and we hope to be able to give back in any way. GoFundMe does not currently allow for money to be transferred to South Africa. I will be responsible for depositing funds and wiring them internationally to The Ark School's donation director.
