Hi, my name is Hadasha Aquin, daughter of Elvira Aquin.
My family and I find ourselves in an incredibly difficult situation, we are reaching out to you all for support during this challenging time.
After a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with Rectal cancer, my beloved mother peacefully passed away at home on June 23rd. She was at stage 4 when she got diagnosed in 2020, the doctors told her she had 6 months to live, but she exceeded it every time. She is the strongest person I know, she fought till the very last breath.
In February doctors told her there was nothing they could do, she entered hospice care. They said she had weeks to months left. You would think we would prepare ourselves but the truth is nothing can prepare you, no amount of time can make it easier to accept. I always hoped for a miracle, I always thought she would get through it even after entering hospice care. We were in denial. Our Mother was the light of the family the one that held everything together. Our family will never be the same, we are lost without her. Her energy was one of a kind, the sweetest soul. Despite what she was going through she always kept a positive attitude, full of life. She leaves behind me, my four siblings; Jaffed, Mariely, Carlos, Alysha and my dad Carlos Aquin. My parents moved to the united states as teenagers from Bolivia and built there own family it was always just us 7, we are all we've got.
She always dreamed of going back to her hometown in Bolivia. Due to legal reasons, she couldn't make it. One of her last wishes was to be cremated and taken to Bolivia with her 5 kids. She wanted us to get to know where she grew up (none of us have ever visited). Please help us complete my amazing mama's last wish. No donation is too small.
Her heartbreaking passing has left us with the overwhelming responsibility and cost of preparing ceremony arrangements for her. We are also dealing with the stress of moving, our lease ends in September and the house is being sold. We have less than 2 months to find a new home.
I understand that times are tough for everyone, any amount you can contribute will be deeply appreciated. Whether it's a small donation or sharing, every action counts. Your kind contributions will assist in lightening the cost of the celebration of life ceremony, travel/ticket costs, and financial burdens both now and in the months to come.
Please feel free to share the link with others.
Thank you!
