Dear Family & Friends
My name is Jordan Rose, I am writing on behalf of my aunt, Yvette Peña.
On Wednesday, January 18th, she was admitted to the hospital for an emergency open heart surgery. The operation was very extensive, at the start, she reacted poorly to the antibiotics that were given to her.
A supposed 4-hour surgery turned into a heart-racing 7 hours. Her body was tired and her organs were traumatized. I arrived the next morning while a dozen Doctors, Surgeons, and nurses talked about her procedure. She was in very critical condition, but the doctors were hopeful and assuring under monitoring and support she would pull through.
They proceeded to take her off breathing support later that day and began lowering her dozen or so medicines. Some were helping her breathe, monitoring her kidneys, stabilizing her blood pressure, controlling her heart function and the list goes on.
Since my aunt has remained in the ICU in very critical condition. Doctors & Surgeons at the University Health Care System have again given her tracheal intubation and a feeding tube. My Aunt is responsive but now has developed fluid in her lungs so again will be sedated for ease and rest.
The Doctors are predicting she will be intubated for several weeks to come.
If you know my Aunt Yvette, you know she is strong, loving and so giving. Her Daughter Lauren, Granddaughter Bella and Grandson Josiah are missing her greatly for she is much a part of their everyday life.
Our family is asking for your help at this time with anything you can share. My Aunt Yvette was my mother’s caregiver and has done so much for her these last 5 years. I wanted to return my love and gratitude by trying to help her raise money to aid her expenses along the way.
If you have questions, want any more information or want to send her words of affirmation please reach out. Thank you in advance and please Pray for my Aunt and family during this time.
Thank you,
Jordan Rose Peña
