I’m Milica, restorer of manuscripts and ancient books.
My mission is to save the memory written on paper, on parchment. I would like to be able to give my contribution as an expert in conservative restoration to save the written memory in Orthodox Monasteries. To train monks so that they can continue to restore their book heritage on their own.
NOMOCANON PROJECT
SAVING THE REAL HARITAGE NOWDAYS AND IN THE FUTURE
NOMOCANON is a nonprofit sustainable solution for the restoration and preservation of invaluable religious and historical books.
Our plan is to create a state-of-the-art laboratory within the premises of the Saint Archangel Michael Monastery in Montenegro, thus enabling the restoration of the books housed within the Monastery as well as those found in various other surrounding locations.
Further on, our goal is to provide guidance to, both, monks and students on effectively utilizing the laboratory and developing the necessary skills for restoration of religious and historical books
A holy place with a thousand-year history, attracting Christians from all over the world, will become the project’s home.
The Monastery is located in the middle of a historical Mediterranean road connecting the Balkan countries.
Nearby Tivat international airport allows safe and fast delivery of antique books and specialists.
