The Annual Million Meals Project
Blessing the Children Canada is asking for your help with sending a container of food to Bishoftu, Ethiopia. We are fortunate enough to partner with Fraser Valley Gleaners, where they provide the food. All funds raised will pay for shipping costs. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
Information on the food container:
- The food container is a 40ft shipping container, containing 960 boxes filled with the dried soup base.
- One Million Meals can be made with just one food container!
How it's prepared:
The dried soup based is mixed with water, spices, and meat to create a delicious and nutritious stew. The children then have the option to eat it with rice or pasta.
The food gets distributed among two schools, which teaches over 2,000 students. Each student gets two meals a day (breakfast & lunch). Food will also be distributed to surrounding communities if needed.

By lending a hand to BCDO Ethiopia, we are able to help provide education and community support. As a result, the people of Bishoftu, Ethiopia are empowered to create better opportunities for an improved quality of life.
