The Angela Morse-Glover Legacy Fund

Donation protected
It is with sad and heavy hearts that my daughter Camilla and I are creating a legacy in memory of wife and mother, Angela, who passed away unexpectedly on the 30th April 2020 from an advanced cancer.

By way of background and as many of you may know, Angela has worked as a peripatetic music teacher in local Surrey schools for the last 32 years as a woodwind tutor. In her very special way, she has gently encouraged her pupils in the skill of playing instruments such as the recorder, clarinet, flute, oboe and saxophone. She created a recorder orchestra and various ensembles emphasising the enjoyment of making music.  Many pupils, who had attained great proficiency as musicians gave memorable performances at various concerts and private functions throughout the borough with several going on to study at Conservatoire. She also coached the woodwind section within the Dunottar Chamber Ensemble and attended to the admin alongside her close friend and colleague Loraine Nagioff.

It is quite clear from the many, many messages we have received during the last week from heads of music, parents and pupils (past and present) that Angela was very highly respected and had a huge impact on her colleagues who have commented on how she positively influenced the children and young adults she tutored to achieve the very best musical skills. This is demonstrated by the  outstanding exam results attained by pupils.

We have been considering how best to celebrate her life and create a lasting legacy for Angela locally and within the schools she taught in and the following ideas are presented for your attention and for which we seek financial support:-

- A memorial bench

- A memorial concert - Funds to be raised for Macmillan and East Surrey Hospital.

- A Shield or award for musical achievement - within the schools she worked at and within the Reigate and Redhill Music Festival.

- Supporting the Dunottar Chamber Ensemble.

We have been approached by many with kind offers of support in lieu of flowers or a formal service which, due to the lockdown is not currently an option. To enable our friends to give that support, we have created this platform to help young musicians to benefit and be encouraged in this art. This was Angela’s work and passion. The loss of Angela has devastated her family and there is an outpouring of grief within her beloved music community where she was so active and became a wonderful advocate for music for the young; she will be sorely missed.

With grateful thanks for your help.

Brian (Mitt) and Camilla.
