Help Honor Andre’s Legacy for His Children
Andre Kristen Goings passed away suddenly on April 23, 2025, at just 45. He was a gifted, loving soul whose life ended far too soon—leaving behind three beautiful children and no financial safety net for their future.
Though he faced life’s struggles, Andre’s love for his children never faltered. Now, as his family, we hope to carry forward that love by creating a small inheritance for each of them—something to support their dreams and remind them of the father who loved them deeply.
Any donation, big or small, will help us honor his memory. And if you can’t give, please consider sharing this message.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Family of Andre Goings

Obituary:
Andre Kristen Goings
November 3, 1979 – April 23, 2025
A bright soul, rich in talent, cherished by family and friends, and forever held in the hearts he touched.
Andre Kristen Goings passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 45.
Born on November 3, 1979, Andre lived a life marked by deep reflection, creativity, and hard-earned wisdom. His journey, though not without struggle, was filled with purpose, growth, and the kind of honesty that moved others to think, feel, and change.
Andre completed his education in the Seattle Public School District. He attended TT Minor Elementary, Washington Middle School, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1998. He later attended Seattle Central Community College where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree.
Andre was a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, and a friend who left a lasting mark on everyone he met. His presence was magnetic. His smile was sunshine. His laugh was penetrative. He held a kindness in his eyes that was a doorway to his beautiful heart and curious mind.
Andre is survived by his loving mother, Anita Bell and father, Reginald Goings (Angela); his younger siblings, Reginald Goings II (Nisha) and Victoria Smith (Travis); his cherished children, Cipher Goings, Jalai Ellis-Goings, and Kamryn Woods; a host of cousins, nieces, his nephew, and dear friends—including his beloved adopted aunt, Gwen Thompson ("Auntie Gwen").
Andre had a deep love for his family, especially his children. Each of them carries a piece of his immense spirit. He connected with young ones with natural ease and a sincere heart.
Andre was someone who asked the hard questions of life and challenged the status quo. His interest in history and life’s deeper meaning sparked conversations that lingered long after they ended. He often recalled words you’d spoken years ago and could remind you of your own wisdom, turning it into a personal life lesson.
He was endlessly creative. As a poet, Andre was drawn to literature, music, acting, and spoken word. Despite his talent, he never bragged. He carried himself with graceful humility. He found joy in expressing himself—whether on paper, through a joke, or over a game of chess or dominoes. He was silly and could find humor in just about anything. You could often find him throwing darts or playing pool, surrounded by conversation and laughter. He loved cooking and feeding the people he loved.
Andre was a “down for the cause”—friend to the end, real, and fiercely loyal person. His journey wasn’t without hardship, and like all of us, he made mistakes. But he always came back—acknowledging his wrongs, striving to do better, and showing respect to his family.
Though his life ended far too soon, Andre’s story is not one of defeat. It is one of rising, reckoning, and reaching for purpose. His family and friends will remember him as someone who listened deeply, gave real love, and lived with authenticity. He never stopped seeking a better version of himself—not just for his own sake, but for the sake of those he loved.
Andre’s life reminds us that not all stories are simple. But every life—especially one lived with as much heart and reflection as his—deserves to be honored with love and dignity.
We find sustaining comfort and hope in the Bible’s promise:
“There will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” —Acts 24:15
We eagerly look forward to the day when our Heavenly Father fulfills His words:
“The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…” —John 5:28
We can’t wait to welcome Andre back to his earthly home, where he “will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace” (Psalm 37:10, 11, 29) and will have the opportunity to reach his full and true potential.
May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of the love he gave so freely, and the dreams he dared to dream—with his head held high, a pen in hand, and a smile that still lights our hearts.
As we grieve, we also celebrate the joy Andre brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Andre’s legacy by contributing to a fund set up to support the goals and dreams of his children.
