The Amma Fund for Girls Education
Donation protected
Our Amma, Mrs. Nirmala Roy was born in 1938, she was married at a tender age in India and to her dismay her formal education was stopped! But ahead of her time, she continued to teach herself everything from English to Math, while managing a huge household and taking care of three kids! Once she moved to the US at the age of seventy, Amma took online courses at Montgomery College and succeeded without any computing or schooling experience! She wanted to help Babuji assess his basic Math Videos. From her kids to their spouses, and to her grandkids she inspired each of us in our PhDs, medical degrees, and job endeavors to go forward and add that “Dr” in front of our names! Amma’s “Aangan” her courtyard in Allahabad was open to all to come eat, relax study and achieve your dreams! As we remember our dearest Amma today we ask in lieu of flowers that you add to the Amma fund which will support orphaned girls in India- to be educated and cared for through a Non-Profit Organization called the Arya Kanya Sadan: https://www.justdial.com/Delhi/Arya-Kanya-Sadan-Near-Main-Market-Faridabad-Sector-15/011PXX11-XX11-100112134311-F3M2_BZDET
