The Aldea Family's Hospice Journey

In recent weeks, Rosanna, along with the support of her loved ones, has made the impossible decision to enter into hospice care and stop medical treatment for Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She is home spending time with her wife Jenny and children Noah and Rhylee. Rosanna is a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, and aunt. She cares deeply for her family and is also a fierce animal lover and protector.

Rosanna was first diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2017. She underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy, which put the cancer into remission. In January of 2023, she had a recurrence of the disease, which metastasized to her bones and liver. The news of her cancer returning was devastating to her and her young family. She pursued numerous treatments and rounds of chemotherapy to stall the cancer from progressing until recently. In January of 2025, she began exhibiting signs of liver failure and has decided to discontinue chemotherapy.

We are asking our friends and families to assist in supporting Rosanna, her wife Jenny, and children Noah and Rhylee during this extremely difficult time. Jenny is the sole provider and will likely be taking a leave from work to care for Rosanna and her children. Due to her prior cancer diagnosis, Rosanna was denied life insurance, which would have covered future living expenses, childcare expenses, medical bills, and funeral costs. We are hoping that providing assistance will help offset the financial burden while Rosanna and her young children navigate her end-of-life journey.
