Hi, my name is John. In May I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon to raise funds for The Alan Graham Foundation.
The AG Foundation was set up in 2021 by a group of nine friends to raise money for smaller charities and induvial causes in the community in memory of our dear friend Alan Graham who sadly passed away from cancer.
Since setting up the AG Foundation we have held many events including, Golf Days, Dinner Dances, Cycle Rides, and taken part in a Half Iron Man.
From these events we have raised an amazing £280,000 which has helped the following charities –
It’s Never You, St Luke’s Hospice, School for Autism-HAC, Lakeside School Special Learning, School for Autism-CAAS, BIBIC, Centre for ADHD & Autism Support, Friends of Meadow High School and the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
As well as helping charities we also support individuals causes in our local community and have helped a young lady who is fundraising to get back on her feet with a new prosthetic running blade that is not available on the NHS. We have also supported a local family to adapt their home to help accommodate their sick young child’s needs.
Any donations you can give small or big will not only keep me motivated to complete the grueling 26 miles but more importantly will go towards raising funds so that the Alan Graham Foundation can continue to help those individuals who need our support.
