Our dear friend, Bill, is fighting for his life. What started out as uncomfortable pain in his stomach a little over a month ago, has led to two weeks in the Flagstaff Medical Center. On Saturday evening October 21st he was transported to Banner Hospital in Phoenix. Unfortunately, there are few details to provide as the doctors are continuing to run tests. What we do know is the portal vein leading to his liver contains a significant blood clot and there is a mass in his liver, which has wreaked havoc on other organs as well. He is currently receiving dialysis to support his kidneys and having a surgery today October 25th with the intention of removing the clot. In addition to this, the doctors are leaving no stone unturned and continue to search for more answers. We are encouraged that he now is in Phoenix surrounded by a team of highly specialized doctors. As you can imagine, this is all very overwhelming for Bill and Monica, as this would be for anyone. In addition to medical bills, there are other expenses like travel between Flagstaff and Phoenix, lodging and managing Will and Ruby's schedules, etc. Bill is a mentally and physically strong individual who only just a few months competed in the Mountain Man Triathlon.

The decision to set up a Go Fund Me is not made lightly. Monica and Bill and the kids are so grateful for the support they have already received from family and friends. Monica has expressed how much love she feels from everyone. They certainly live in an amazing community in Flagstaff and are surrounded by love and support. Let us help them focus on Bill's recovery and alleviate some of the pressures of the rapidly mounting bills. Bill's road to recovery is a true marathon at this point.
