The Aguilar's Medical Bills

Hi, I am Monica, a friend of the Aguilar family. I have known Chelsea for about 10 years after meeting in church and immediately connecting from our mutual goofiness and love for metaphors. The Aguilars have two beautiful boys, Duke (3) and Zach (2), and are very active in their church. Albert is the director of high school ministry and Chelsea works in the nursery. They both have beautiful hearts and a passion for children's ministry.

I am raising money for Chelsea as she contracted a deadly form of meningitis (brain infection) in November. As it's a new year, insurance has changed and their income has diminished because Chelsea can not work to help with finances (including medical bills).

Although it's been 4 months since her infection, she still suffers from the long term effects of meningitis:

As you can imagine, these symptoms have affected her daily life - from getting ready in the morning to taking care of her babies, to grocery shopping, driving (not yet able), and going to church. Her insurance co-pays are very high for physical therapy ($95/week) and is very minimal in terms of medical coverage.

On day 11, I remember looking at one of my nurses and telling her tearfully, "I just need a hug. No one has hugged me in a long time." And she sat down on my bed and held me while we both cried.

Money collected is going straight to her account for medical bills. However, I have also started a meal train to ensure the family has food and nourishment. You can also donate there for grocery money.
