The Aerium's New Home

To our students, friends, family, and community…
Claudia Torkelson and Dara Minkin are launching a new aerial studio located in NE San Antonio. The new workspace will allow our aerial family to grow, learn, and soar to new heights. We will offer silks, trapeze, lyra, straps, Pilates, kids classes and more. We are thrilled about the potential for our upcoming home. The new location features a 20 foot ceiling offering six rigging points, a Pilates room, and dance flooring to roll on.
Dara Minkin came to San Antonio with 10 years of experience in the aerial arts and a degree in contemporary dance, to teach the aerial silks program at Aerial Horizon. Although AH succumbed to COVID, Dara carried the vision forward founding The Aerium, a school of aerial acrobatics. Initially housed in a basketball stadium, The Aerium was hosted temporarily at Aerial City, and now comes into its own at the burgeoning studio.
Claudia Torkelson is a classically trained Pilates and yoga instructor. Her San Antonio studio Fit Body Pilates has been her teaching home for 20 years. Claudia fell in love with the aerial arts through Aerial Horizon in 2018. As empowered leaders in the moving arts, she and Dara became close friends over leggings, aerial athletics and advocacy. We are delighted to partner in giving The Aerium it's own home.
The Aerium has thrived during uncertain times due to the support of our students and community. We need your help. Our buildout requires installation of air conditioning, heating, and flooring for the comfort of our students.
With your help, we will raise $50,000.
Please donate. You are contributing to our new aerial sanctuary. We can’t do it without our community. Each and every one of you are an integral part of “The Aerium Fabric.”
