The Adults Are Talking follows police detective Smithy, as she conducts her latest investigation in a totalitarian state. However, as her suspect, Ian, becomes increasingly uncooperative she resorts to any means necessary to twist the case to her desires.
This is our final chance to showcase our skills at University. We are hoping to make the best film possible in order to use it in our showreels and screen at festivals. However, to do that we need your help. Any amount will be hugely appreciated and go towards bringing our vision to your screens.
We offer incentives for our higher backers:
£25 - Special thanks in the credits
£50 - Early access to the film (prior to official release)
£100 - Exclusive behind the scenes photos and stills (can be sent digitally or printed)
£200 - Executive Producer credit on IMDb
The money raised will be spent in its entirety on this project. It'll go towards hiring actors and building the world you'll see on screen. We're planning to submit to film festivals as well, so that the film can reach audiences all over the country, and potentially even internationally.
'I hoped to write a script which was both entertaining and socially relevant for an audience, so writing something with so many personal themes from my own life experience allowed me to explore these in an environment which I was qualified and excited to write about.' - Harry Dooley, Writer
'As soon as Harry sent me their script I was instantly hooked, I knew right away that its a story I wanted to tell and perfect for our final film at University. I've directed films with serious themes and important messages before, but the setting of the film and the black comedy writing makes this really exciting, as we have much more freedom to tell this story in an interesting way.' - Joe Greenwood, Director
'When I initially read the treatment and script I was immediately excited by the potential of the film, I knew from the off that it was something that I wanted to work on and commit to as a new challenge. Obviously, as the Director of Photography, it’s my job to try and capture Joe’s vision - something that I hope I have delivered on in the past. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be serious, it’s going to be cold and it’s going to be relevant. These are the things I want to bring to the screen with this film.' - Adam Carless, Director of Photography
We have made such great progress in our test shoots, script meetings and team discussions. We are so excited for you all to see the final film.
