The Adalian Family

On Thursday September 24th, our family experienced a very personal scare that has forever changed the lives of six very important people to us. Chip Adalian, father to our four lovely girls, experienced an unexpected grand mal seizure while at work. His cousin and coworker called 9-1-1 and he was rushed to the closest hospital (Saratoga Hospital) for emergency treatment. After several pain staking days and numerous tests, it was found that Chip had suffered multiple mini strokes as well as a diagnosis of Diabetes. He was kept at the hospital for over a week and was transferred to Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital as a short term patient for several therapies (speech, pt, ot). It was found that Chip had cryptogenic strokes, which affected his ability to recall words, make sound decisions, organize his thoughts/plans as well as being able to safely manage his everyday tasks. After inconsistent care, miscommunication, false statements and inability to keep him at this rehabilitation center, Chip was transferred to a traumatic brain injury rehabilitation center outside of Kingston, where he currently resides. This rehabilitation center has demonstrated competence, understanding and support to Michelle during this stressful and unbearable time. At the end of this month, they will be providing her with answers and clear understanding of what exactly Chip’s strengths, weaknesses and needs will be.
Chip is unable to work at this time. With this loss of income, Michelle is left with a HUGE financial burden of her house, Chip's apartment as well as monthly bills that are typically covered by two incomes.
We are asking for your help because if you know these girls, Michelle and Chip, you know that they are the most loving, wonderful and supportive people to everyone around them. They are going through so much as well as carrying the burden of financial hardship. This is where we can all help.
Asking for help is such a hard thing, but it is truly needed at this time. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our heart for any contribution.
