A five-year-old boy navigates the ups and downs of childhood while caught in the turbulent pursuit of his father’s dreams as an aspiring actor.
Welcome to our fundraising page for the Chapman University film, LUCA & JOHNNY.
"Luca & Johnny" tells the story of young Luca Lindell, a boy caught in the emotional fallout of his father Johnny’s pursuit of stardom. As Johnny struggles to juggle auditions, callbacks, and the responsibilities of single parenthood, it’s Luca who often bears the weight of his father’s absence. With each missed pickup and broken promise, Luca is quietly shaped by the instability of Johnny’s ambition. When Johnny lands a promising role, it seems like a breakthrough—but his continued failures as a father force Luca’s grandfather to step in, presenting Johnny with a final choice: his career or his son.
