A new way to support the Abu-dagga family
My name is Layla, and I have been supporting the Abu-dagga family for almost three years.
I have watched this family endure unimaginable loss and hardship, and I am setting up this new GoFundMe campaign because they are missing out on vital support.
Their previous campaign was set up through Chuffed and connected to PayPal. Unfortunately, this has made it difficult for many people to donate, as not everyone is able to donate through PayPal. Despite sharing their story every day and reaching thousands of people on social media, many supporters have been unable to donate because of the payment options available.
I cannot allow this family to continue losing opportunities for help because of a platform issue. This is why we have created this new campaign — to make it easier for people to support them and to ensure that every person who wants to help has the chance to do so.
Since the beginning of the genocide, Mohammed Abu-dagga and his family have experienced unimaginable tragedy. Their homes in Khan Yunis, Abasan Al-Kabira were targeted on the first day, and Mohammed lost 17 family members. He was forced to pull his children and his parents from under the rubble. Since then, the losses have continued, and his family has now lost around 70 loved ones, including another devastating loss just days ago.
Today, Mohammed and his family are trying to survive without a home. They are staying in a room and rely on support for their most basic needs — food, clean water, rent, and everyday necessities. They have no stable income and no way to rebuild their lives without help.
His six-year-old daughter Celine is suffering from rickets due to malnutrition, and like so many children in Gaza, she is facing the consequences of a lack of food and essential care.
We are asking everyone who sees this campaign to please support this family if you can. A donation, no matter the amount, can help provide them with the basics they need to survive.
If you have tried to support them before but could not donate through Chuffed, please redirect your support here. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign and help us reach someone who can.
This family has been carrying unimaginable pain for years. They deserve to be seen, supported, and not forgotten.
With deep gratitude
Layla
