As many of youy know our oldest daughter Abigail has been going through two years of major medical issues. We have watched our beautiful outgoing daughter go from eating steak and going to Tijuana Flats to not being able to hold any food down without throwing it up for the past 8 months.
Abigail had to drop out of school because her medical conditions could not allow her to function for what was needed for her to be in school. She misssed out on doing all the fun things a normal teeenage girl does like graduating, hanging with her friends and just normal everyday things that we take for granted.
Abigail now has a feeding tube that is surgically inside her to enable her to receive her feed from. This is due to a condition called Gastroperesis. It is a daily goal for her to go one day at a time without throwing up even the little bites of food she attempts to eat.
Abigail was a promising artist and loved to read books, but she can't do either now because of the AutoImmune Diseases ( Dysautonomia, and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) she has that hinder her sight, the ability to walk without a walker and effects all the parts of her body. If she tries to walk without her walker she starts to lose her balance and at times has just passed out due to the low blood pressure the AutoImmune diseases cause.
Only 200,000 people in the entire world have the 2 medical conditions that Abigail has. This has made us realize that we have to take her to Specialty hospitals like Cleveland Clinic or Mayo for her to get the best care. This is not covered by insurance so we must rely in faith on God and you to provide the finances needed.
All her medical conditions are incurable but are able to be treated to help her live better. This will be a long journey for Abigail.
Her mom has had to stop working fulltime as she needs to be available to care for Abigail and take her on all the doctors visits when she is not in a hospital.
We can use all the help we can recieve in helping Abigail receive the best care and live a more fruitful and healthier life.
Our initial goal is to raise initially$200,000 to help with any medical cost, travel and care to out of state specialty clinics, and many other unforseen expenses that it will take for Abigailto have a lifetime of medical care.
Whatever you feel led to give would be an amazing blessing in helping our daughter have a more normal life, and if you know anyone who would like to help, please pass this along to your network of contacts.
In Christ's service,
Craig and Heather Starley
