The Medeiros Family Recovery

Hello, name is Roxann Morrill and I am fundraising for sweet friends and softball family Matt and Michelle Medeiros and their two daughters Marlo (7) and Maelin (4) whom sadly loss their home to the last storm on March 21st in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Unfortunately, after CZU Fire it’s been difficult to get full coverage on insurance in the Santa Cruz Mountains such as rental coverage should you need it if your home is destroyed. The family is currently displaced and will require to find a rental. Another problem currently our county is facing is we are not declared a disaster despite the 26 homes destroyed from this last storm.

Due to the heavy rain, we’ve experienced this winter and the high-winds on Tuesday a huge tree fell on their home ripping through the house. Fortunately enough, Michele and her daughter Maelin were able to get out in time. But that was a very close call! There is a lot of water damage and like others they have been unable to remove the trees from their house.

The Deschler family are from Sonoma County. When they first visited Boulder Creek they knew this is the place they wanted to raise their children and set down their roots. It took them five years to move here. It has been their dream to live in the mountains and it finally came true. They have been residents of Boulder Creek for two years. They fell in love with the community and living in the mountains.

The Medeiros family are currently displaced. Any amount would be very helpful to the family as they begin to rebuild their home and replace the things they loss. Thank you in advanced!
