Rosen John's Family was displaced when a fire severely damaged a Dubuque home:
Hello, my name is Rosen John this is my family's story of our house fire.
A fire at a Dubuque home on March 14th, 2022, displaced the Rosen John's Family, though no injuries were reported. Dubuque firefighters responded at about 2:55 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the basement, first and second floors of the single-family, rental home, according to Assistant Fire Chief Mark Ludescher. They encountered heavy fire in the basement, and the blaze spread to the other floors as well. "I'd say it took us at least an hour to get it under control," Ludescher said. Firefighters remained on scene until 6:40 p.m. Ludescher said the home sustained smoke, water, and fire damage throughout. He estimated the total damage at $197,000. "It'll have to be gutted," he said. Tenants that were home at the time of the fire evacuated safely. The American Red Cross is assisting them.
There were 10 family members displaced by this fire, ranging in ages from 4 months 47 yrs old. We have lost nearly all our personal belongings from this fire. We are raising money to help replace our personal belongings and relocate to a new home.
