Dear friends,

We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life.

An electric word, life - it means forever, and that's a mighty long time.

But I'm here to tell you there's something else:

Empathy.

Cuz in this life, things are much harder than in the afterworld. In this life you're on your own.

It's 2025, and most of us are finding everyday life more and more complicated. If you're reading this it's because you - or someone you know - thinks that you recognize that the system is failing our houseless, and that private actions are unfortunately necessary. I see them as an obligation. This will be the 9th year of my annual effort to look out for Edmonton’s houseless and I hope you might consider donating to the cause. This year’s goal is to provide packs of warm clothing and hot food to at least 80 people who need it. Specifically, each pack will provide three pairs of thermal socks, an insulated toque, insulated gloves, a fleece blanket… and will also come with at least two large slices of hot pizza for each person. I will also be providing at least 30 feminine care bags.

Every human has a story, and each has equally real and important needs. I believe it’s the responsibility of those who have to take care of those without. Life can be hard and we're all in this together, so I ask once more that you consider donating to this cause as an act of being the change you wish to see in this fucked up world of ours.

Let's go crazy and help as many people as we can.
