We are raising money for The Ambulance Staff Charity (TASC) by hiking Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours!
As emergency medical advisors for East Midlands Ambulance Service we see the direct impact that caring for patients has on all members of staff not just our road staff but also in the control room.
Our road staff enter scenes they have no idea about, putting their own safety at risk, they pour everything they have into dealing with life threatening emergencies. Our control staff are the first voice people hear in an emergency and guide patients on what to do while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. With the wait times and the external pressures on the emergency services the assaults and abuse towards all members of staff have rapidly increased.

Naturally these high pressured environments can have an impact on the wellbeing of the people who care for the public and it’s vital we are able to look after them to keep everyone afloat.

TASC The Ambulance Staff Charity is the leading UK charity providing support present and past ambulance staff and their families in time of need. Providing confidential, impartial and independent advice and access to a range of support services, including rehabilitation when recovering from illness or injury, mental health support; bereavement support; debt and welfare advice; financial grants and other support.

We are doing this to raise awareness for TASC and to also raise a bit of money to give back to those who help us!

Any support, however big or small is greatly appreciated!
