Welcome to the Runner Registration/Donor Page for The 10-Mile Fun Run for DJ Silver! 

In 2019, the Javier family was changed forever by the news that Nick Javier (our Father), was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma Muscle Cancer. As shocking as it was for all of us, we could neither predict nor fathom how deeply moved we were by the support and generosity of our communities, friends, and family members. Whether it was monetary donations, emotional or religious support, home cooked meals, or even a kind word and thoughtful gesture, we are forever and eternally grateful for YOU, our dearest of loved ones! Every contribution has mattered and has been solely used to help our Dad's fight with Cancer.

In 2021, we decided to get a bit more...ACTIVE with our support! With the transformation of Dad into the fierce and forever optimistic Cancer Warrior he has become, we have decided to put TOGETHER AND TRAIN for a  10 Mile Run Fundraiser, and you can ALL PARTICIPATE, regardless of level of fitness! 

On March 27th, 2021, whether you wish to run, donate, or sponsor someone, everyone has a chance to participate in this fun and meaningful opportunity to assist Dad with his fight and promote a healthy, active lifestyle for a good cause!

***RUNNERS/WALKERS***
If you choose to take part in the Fun Run for DJ Silver, the date of the official 10 Mile run is March 27th, 2021. That's where those of us who choose to run or walk the full 10 miles in one day, will put all of their training to the test. Speaking of training, our lovely expert fitness instructor, Danielle D. Martinez, MPH, CPT, has graciously come up with a suggested training plan to get yourself ready to go the distance!

Training Plan For Runners 

Since social distancing and other circumstances may prevent all those who wish to participate from joining up at one central location for the run, this run can be completed anywhere you are in the world!

Now, the best twist to this run is, if running a whole 10 miles seems intimidating or you just don't feel like training that hard, you can run or walk the 10 miles however you want, or just run however many miles you wish to run until the final race date, March 27th, 2021.

You can....
-Do 2 miles total
-Do 4.5 miles total.
-Do a mile every week until the final date. 
-Do a mile once a day for the 10 days leading up to the final date.
-Do a half mile for the 20 days leading up to the final date.
-Do a quarter mile for.................you get the point.

This takes pressure off those who want to just work out at their own pace and still be helping Dad with his cancer fight! Think of the months of January through March as "Cancer Warrior" season!


***THE WAY THE FUNDRAISER WORKS***

- Runners/Walkers -
Please register to participate by clicking below and paying the $20 registration fee. That gets you included in our group email, with weekly reminders and fitness tips to keep you motivated!

Once you decide to register, then you may contribute $5 for every mile you choose to run. You may either include the mile donation with the registration fee at the same time (i.e. $70 if you wish to run AND choose to commit to the full 10 Miles), or register now, then pay for every mile you ran once the final race date occurs.

We encourage you to share this page and document your progress either for social media purposes (we encourage you to get others in on the fun, either as RUNNERS, SPONSORS, or DONATORS or just let people know how awesome of a person you are!).
