Life has a way of surprising us in ways we could never prepare for. Recently, a close friend received news that no one ever wants to hear—a cancer diagnosis (and they have respectfully wished to remain anonymous for now while they are in the middle of processing the news)
To show my support and raise funds, I’ll be taking on a huge personal challenge: solo hiking 100 miles across the Trans Pennine Trail between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th September.
This walk represents the endurance, resilience, and strength that my friend has shown
The route I’ll be walking starts at Doncaster and passes through Barnsley before climbing into the Peak District via the longendale trail to woodhead from there it descents to penistone and continues into Manchester then along the river Mersey through Warrington and Widnes before passing through the suburbs of Liverpool through to Southport
Cancer treatment brings with it not just physical and emotional challenges, but also financial ones and my friend being self-employed only adds to the strain. The smallest contributions will still be gratefully received, even a pound from each of you would add up to a tremendous amount.
If you’re unable to give, sharing this page would also make a world of difference.
This fund is not about charity. It’s about community. It’s about giving back to someone who has given so much of themselves to others. Every contribution—big or small—will go toward easing the pressure of daily expenses so that they can focus on their most important job: healing.
Thank you
