My name is Dan Jablonski and I am trying to raise the needed funds for my dog Buster's IVDD operation. Most dogs that suffer from IVDD deal with a handful of discs that are affected...my baby is dealing with his entire back from neck to tail. This is a website that gives more information on IVDD...however I have been told by 4 veterinarians that this is the only way to save him as his prognosis is quite poor. Quotes from Kirkland Veterinary Hospital in Seattle...and UC Davis in CA including MRI put the cost at 12000.00 due to the extensive nature of the disease.

This could not come at a worse time for my husband and I as we are realing from a 3 year IRS audit and the loss of income. Buster is our baby and the sibling to our other Doxie Oscar that just can't understand why his big brother can't play with him. It crushes my heart when I see him in pain and when he tries in vain to hold his bladder, because he knows he should not go in the house. Buster is paralyzed and without the operation may never walk again. He is now incontinent and it makes him so sad that he cannot be a good boy for daddy...but he is a good boy and I love him more than life. For those of us that truly love our dogs we know that they would take a bullet for us and I would do the same for him. My heart breaks at the pain his big brown eyes shield. Without this operation the future is not good and the pain and paranything that you can give would be appreciated...thank you so much.
From a friend and staff at SE Animal Medical Center:
Buster is a well know patient at Southeast Alaska Animal Medical Center. He comes in at least 2-3 times a week for laser therapy, which has been very successful but unfortunately it's just supportive care. Oh, and let's not forget his chickensicle, he comes in for that too! Buster has the best personality (especially for a Dachshund with back problems!) that I have ever the pleasure of working with, even when he's in terrible pain. His owner's are very dedicated and will always do whatever they can to help Buster. They have done extensive research on several specialty clinics that can do his surgery but it's very expensive and not only do they have to pay for the surgery but also the MRI (not included), flight, hotel, care rental, missing work, aftercare, ect. In addition to trying to save up for this surgery they are paying for Buster's medications, laser therapy and the occasional acupuncture to keep him comfortable. For those of you that know me you know that I rarely post on Facebook. I am making this post because I see Buster multiple times a week and I know what this surgery can do for him. This is your chance to do more than 'Share if you agree' or 'Share if you care.' This is your chance to help a young dog live a long, happy and pain free life. This is your chance to see/watch/feel how your help will impact this family. So please Share and if possible donate. I will post updates as they come.
