Christina, who sustained a shot to her head, was put into a medically induced coma so that doctors and healthcare professionals could help her fight for her life.
Christina survived. Today she is living with her extended family and attends the 6th grade at St. Clare Catholic Academy in Rosedale, Queens.
Friends of Christina was established to raise funds to build a college trust. Together with the family and entire community, we'd like to give her the support she needs to build her life and chart her future towards any goal she desires. And we're asking you to help us.

How did we calculate college costs?
We used a calculator developed by Results Imperative to estimate future costs of public college. This tool calculates the rate of inflation and tuition increases by the time Christina turns 18. We entered in the average cost of today's public colleges would be $9,139 as defined by the College Board and rounded it to 10,000. The resulting estimate was $53,731 for a four-year degree.
What if you help us go above our goal?
Donations above our goal will go to expand Christina's options towards out of state and private schools and advanced degrees. The same calculation estimates that a public out-of-state school would total $123,000 and a private non-profit education would total $168,000 without room and board.
