That's Not A Car! Mongol Rally '17

G'day Everyone!
Team 'That's Not A Car!' here consisting of Patrick, Haylee, Natalie & James, reaching out to you from stunning Sydney!

On Sunday 16th July 2017, we will be embarking on a life-changing journey to London, England. From there we will thunder over16,000 kilometers across mountains, desert and steppe of Europe and Asia, to finish about 40 days-ish later, and over a quarter of the way around the globe, in Ulan-Ude, Siberia.

There is;
No backup,
No support
No set route

WHAT IS THIS CAMPAIGN FOR?
This campaign is to raise money for Cool Earth and Father Chris Riley's Youth Off The Streets. It's a requirement of the rally that we raise $812 for the official Mongol Rally charity (Cool Earth) and $812 for our chosen charity (Youth Off The Streets). Though we believe we can make more!

Youth Off The Streets provides crisis care for young people aged 12-22 still living on the streets with a food van, youth refuge and outreach programs. Over 35 services are offered for young people who are disadvantaged, homeless, drug dependent and or recovering from abuse. Youth Off The Streets helps young people reach their full potential and discover greatness within.

Cool Earth is a charity that works alongside indigenous villages putting local people back in control with the resources they need to keep their rainforest intact. Cool Earth only work with villages that approach them and therefore drive the partnership. A village decides what it needs most and how funds are spent – everything from clean water and a new classroom to midwife training and mosquito nets.

To save money we plan on roughing it; camping along the side of the road, preparing our own food, and driving slowly to reduce fuel consumption and limit breakdowns, no matter the consequences to our personal comfort we will make the trip!

This trip comes at great personal expense and we plan to give as much as we can back to charity. Though to bring this epic expedition to fruition, we need your support!

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
Your support could be anything! $5 is a great donation! We know many of you are living off two-minute noodles so we appreciate every little penny. However, should you feel like donating a substantial amount we will be eternally grateful.

The money raised from this page will be split equally between Cool Earth and Youth Off The Streets.

This is not a trip that is chauffeured by safety or backup vehicles. No equipment is provided. We will be paying for our own flights, accomodation and food. But in order to ensure that this mission for Cool Earth and Youth Off The Streets is successuful, there are a number of costs to overcome. To get an idea of the costs involved, head on over to Sponsor Us section of our website and see what items you can cross off our list.
There are a number of rewards that are available for varying levels of sponsorship so dig deep and we'll give you something in return.

This page will continue to be open after we have (fingers crossed) reached the finish line so we can get to our fundraising goal.

We would like to thank everyone who has donated and helped us get this far! We hope the two of us will do you proud and keep you entertained for the 6 weeks of travel ahead.
