Thatcher Stephens and Family Fundraiser

As many of you may have heard, our good friend’s little guy, 5 month old Thatcher Stephens, is currently in Vancouver at BC Children’s Hospital with his mom Keri. In October, after going through all of the testing, Thatcher has been diagnosed with Stage 4S Neuroblastoma. His little body has many tumours including his kidney, liver, skin, head and near his brain. The good news is Stage 4S, is treatable and has a promising prognosis. He is receiving the BEST care in Vancouver and their team has been in contact with the top neuroblastoma experts across North America about Thatcher’s case.

Mark is at home right now with Genevieve and Clementine and travelling back and forth between appointments and continuing to work both remotely and in the office. Mark’s parents have been helping out at home when both Mark and Keri are away, trying to keep things as normal as possible for the two little ladies at home.

Thatcher requires two cycles of chemotherapy, which he has just completed his first 3 days and is now in his recovery period before the next round. Thatcher will be in Vancouver until mid to late December and hopefully with these two cycles this will jump start regression of the disease, and after these two cycles they can enter the watchful waiting treatment plan, hopefully at home.

Our friends Mark and Keri need our help now. The Stephens’ are always the first to jump up and help others in their time of need and have had a hard time asking for help themselves. I know our community though and how we take care of those within it. Any donation you can make, big or small, is so appreciated and will help with all of the travel costs incurred, food, expenses, etc. This is going to be a long road for Thatcher and his recovery and at this time, if we can alleviate some of the stresses of life for his parents, we will do whatever it takes. Any funds that are not spent at the end will be donated by the Stephens family back to Ronald McDonald House and/or BC Children’s Hospital.
