Badu Ghana has been rooted in community for 3 years, supporting 350+ young people every week. But only 16% of them are women and girls. This year, we are changing that.
We are raising funds for our That Moment When Ghana Campaign, to create 100 Women’s Wellbeing Hampers in Accra.
These hampers are more than essentials. They are the first step in creating safer, more confident and culturally grounded pathways for girls to step into sport, stay in it and grow within it.
Our mission is simple:
When you build for the most underserved, you build for everyone.
When they thrive, everyone thrives.
Girls and women in both in the UK and Ghana have been overlooked for generations ins port. They deserve to be in the driving seat of the spaces and opportunities being built around them.
Your support helps us create that shift, working with local leaders across urban, peri-urban and rural Ghana to open the game to those who have been left out.
This is where the change begins.
Thank you for standing with us and helping more girls step into their power, their confidence and their future.
Our women's wellbeing hamper will include:
- Educational Resources
- Sanitary Products
- Full women's BADU football kit
We currently have two women practitioners supporting over 40 girls in the Volta Region at Hlevi D.A Basic School.
In Accra, however, we only have 10 girls regularly participating. One of our missions is to ensure there is a women practitioner present to engage, guide and support these young women.
Part of the budget will go directly towards strengthening that representation and bringing in a women sport leader to inspire, lead and grow the programme for girls in Accra.
