Hi everyone! I'm Nichole and I started this go fund me page on behalf of my best friend Alexis and her super hero family.

Their crazy journey started with the news that they were having twins! In the beginning everything seemed to be going perfect until She hit 24 weeks. On May 11, 2013 the girls were delivered. Lennix was 1lb 6oz. & Charlee was 1lb. 1oz.
Lennix was diagnosed with NEC and had to be transferred to Akron Children’s for surgery. She pulled through that surgery just to be faced with another surgery. For a month they made the trip from their house, to canton during the day and to Akron for the evening and back home to sleep for 5 hours, wake up and do it again. On June 13, Lennix was stable enough to be transferred back to canton to be with her sister. Unfortunately On Monday June 17, Lennix had to be transferred back to Akron Children’s for a blockage in her bowel. When she arrived, things went from bad to worse. they had to do an emergency surgery at the bedside to treat compartment syndrome. The dr told them to kiss her goodbye because her chances of surviving the surgery were very slim. Amazingly, our little fighter pulled through. They decided to keep her stomach open to allow room for swelling. And Three days later, she went up to the OR to have her stomach closed.
At that point they had finally got a room at Ronald McDonlad, so they had Charlee transferred to Akron as well. Charlee had numerous failed extubations and In August Charlee went in for trach surgery and came out a brand new baby. After she recovered, you could see how happy she was. After we got done with Charlee’s recovery, they decided Lennix was ready to have her intestines reconnected. Right along with the other surgeries they had faced, this was just as scary, but she pulled through and was healthier and happier than ever.
September came and went and They decided that both girls needed G-Tubes and Lennix needed a nissen due to her having severe reflux. A week after that surgery, Charlee seemed very sick, everything seemed off, she wasn’t herself and was constantly vomiting. . They did a spinal tap to find that she had contracted meningitis. Through a head ultrasound, they found an abscess on her brain and needed to drain it the next day. They warned them that they didn’t know how this would affect her brain and her development and she could very well not have good function on one side of her body. Not surprisingly, she came out of surgery and was awake and playing a few days afterwards.
After months of praying Lennix was able to come home with a little bit of oxygen on November 29 after 203 days in the NICU. Only a week after Lennix was released, They noticed that she wasn’t acting herself and they decided to take her to the ER. They did an RSV swab and it came back positive. She was immediately taken upstairs and readmitted on the 7th floor. Now they were bouncing back and forth between both girls. Luckily she had received the synagis vaccine and they caught it early so she only had to stay for a week. They were back to balancing a baby at Ronald and a baby in the NICU. On December 23, with all nursing in place Charlee was released after spending 226 days in the NICU. Finally, 7 months later, they had their family all together at home. Lennix was later diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy.
On April 2nd 2015 Charlee went into surgery to have the trach removed and reconstruction surgery of her trachea. Everything went fine during the surgery. On April 12th she had a collapsed lung and was put on a breathing machine. Everything seemed ok after that and on April 20th they were able to go home with a trach free Charlee! Unfortunately on April 28th Charlee was taken back to Akron because she was having issues breathing. Since then she has went into cardiac arrest twice and coded. She is currently on a breathing tube and sedated to let her throat heal and let her Rest.

As you can imagine this is a trying and stressful time for Nick and Alexis. There is really no telling how long they will be in the hospital this time. Any donation will help as they continue to amaze us with their super human strength and battle on!
