Thanksgiving Hit and Run Victim Fund
As some of you may know, my friend, Kendall King, and her parents were involved in a hit and run while crossing a crosswalk on Thanksgiving evening in Denver, CO after their family holiday celebrations. The driver of the car ran the red light, struck the family at full speed, and fled the scene. Kendall's mother, Karen, suffered critical injuries that ultimately claimed her life. Kendall and her father, Alan, suffered extensive injuries that kept them in the surgical intensive care unit for several days. Kendall had to have surgery on her left arm in order to attach a plate and several screws to address a severe break. Screws also had to be inserted in her pelvis which was broken from the impact. A future surgery will be needed to fix the torn ACL in her left leg. These severe injuries, along with numerous minor injuries, have her currently confined to a wheelchair.
Given that healthcare is in the state that it is...Kendall not only has a long physical road ahead of her that will include months of physical therapy once all of her surgeries are complete, but also a long financial road. During this difficult time, I've had several of Kendall's friends reach out and ask "how can I help?" After speaking with Kendall, I have put together this GoFundMe to assist with the medical bills that are starting to accumulate.
