Sultan's Thanksgiving Comedy

THE STORY

It's Thanksgiving at your house and the relative who always comes by for the free food is here, the Auntie who makes that TERRIBLE potato salad just walked through the door and that cousin who believes Trump is "Making America Great Again" sat right next to you.


What if you could hire a bouncer and tell them to keep out all those annoying relatives before they even step near your lawn? 

My film "The Holiday Bouncer" wants to see that idea come to life. Get the chance to enjoy a short comedy about a family who hires a bouncer tokeep out those annoying and petty relatives!

Expect laughs and storytelling as we dive into a hilarious situation with a bunch of characters that's probably your cousin!

WHO IS THE FILMMAKER?

My name is Sultan Ali, I'm a twenty-four year old African-American filmmaker who reps New York City. My journey began when I participated in a virtual reality-based short film which won first prize for “Best Emerging Media” at the 2018 "AT&T Create-A-Thon". In the summer of 2018, I was one of the three chosen finalist for the "NAACP & Ford Cinematic Shorts Competition" in San Antonio, Texas. My film centered on "Why is the census important to people of color?", it was the first time I felt proud creating content that was helping convey a powerful message. I had the honor of debuting the film during the 109th Annual NAACP Convention.

Recently, this past summer my film "Five Stars", a thriller about a girl getting falling in love with her Uber driver was completely funded through GoFundMe. With the money donated I was able to hire an amazing crew and get selected by the Hip Hop Film Festival right here in NYC and the First-Time Filmmakers Festival in Los Angeles.  It is also currently streaming on TAAN.TV, the best African-American streaming platform in San Antonio, Texas!



DONATION

In total, I'm asking for $1500 because this production is bigger,  the cast is bigger and I need help paying for my amazing crew and meals (people gotta eat). This is not the full budget, I will put in my own money but I could use some help. 

I did the math if three people pay $500, or ten people pay $150 or 1500 people pay $1, I'll be good. Any and every donation is helpful, you will also receive recognition in the credits as Co-Producer (that's a legit title). Also I will update my Co-Producer of the film's progress and if you provide your email, I will send you a direct copy of the final product.

WHY YOU SHOULD HELP ME?

My  goal for filmmaking is to create interesting and totally unorthodox storytelling for underrepresented people. I understand that filmmaking is a tiring and strenuous job but it's a craft I can't leave alone no matter how much I try. I"m well aware of my potential and I'm ready to do the hard work but I know with your donations it will help make the journey a little less rocky!
