Thank You Vintage Stolen Vehicle and Inventory
Donation protected
On Thursday November 30th, 2023, my car was stolen from outside my house in the middle of the night. I woke up the next morning and discovered the tragedy that had happened. My car was loaded up and ready for the most part to vend at a Chicago market that weekend. I had over 150+ items of clothing, accessories, rugs, tapestries and crates/displays for the market in my car. The car was found in the following days, but in totaled and not drivable condition, an estimated value of $3500 making it more than the value of the car it’s self. On top of that, all of my inventory was gone from the car, an estimated $7000+ loss and over 70% of my total shop inventory. Unfortunately, I did not have business insurance to protect against the losses of my inventory.
This unfortunate event has set me back roughly $10,000 and as a small growing business, this is a steep hit to take especially going into the slower months of the year. With running a small business being hard enough as it is, it’s events like this that make it feel hopeless at times. Vintage clothing holds such a unique and irreplaceable value, many of the pieces I will probably never find or see again. Most of the items were 50+ years old, holding so many untold stories and sentiment from the hands that they’ve passed through… only to be dumped and trashed on the street somewhere.
This Go Fund Me will help me repair my business and get my feet back on the ground. It will help towards buying another more reliable and safe vehicle so that I can continue to source and do markets because a lot of being a vintage clothing seller is just driving around. It will help me with the loss of income that the stolen clothes would’ve provided me with for markets through the winter months. I’m hoping to get back at least some of the total of what I’ve lost so that I can get back on my feet during this time. Any donation or share helps and is greatly appreciated❤️
If you can’t donate, please share this go fund me or consider purchasing something from what I have still listed on my shop!
