Hello brothers,
As some of you know our amazing house mom/chef Susan Schrock will be retiring from the house at the end of this school year in June 2025 after (I believe) 16 years of service to Omega Chapter. Having reached countless lives and being a core pillar of success of our chapter through this time and through the COVID epidemic I believe she is more than deserving of some help from the Sigma Pi's she helped develop into the proud and successful men that we all are today. From continuing to provide meals for the chapter through COVID even given her increased risk to the disease, to taking pay cuts and using her own money to help support the chapter during economic downturns, to ensuring the chapter house was up to "parental" standards for family weekends, to lending an ear and being a non-judgmental mother figure when that's what some of us needed most, and to even delaying her retirement because she wanted to make sure to leave the chapter house in a good place before departing.
While she has never asked for more than we were able to give and always giving more than she had, giving her some financial help to make her retirement as enjoyable as possible is the least we can do for all she has given us. I ask all of you to write her a message either on the Facebook post, to me directly, or with your donation so that I can give her a book full of the messages of how she impacted our lives for the better. My goal is for everyone to be able to donate $100 each but as we all know Susan would be eternally grateful if you are able to donate just $1 or even just the heartfelt message.
Of course this will be a surprise to her and I will do my best to be there to surprise her on her last day and give her the money and messages in person and I invite everyone that can make it to also be there to show Susan the impact she was able to make on all our lives. Last day of classes is June 13th 2025 so that is when I intend on going but I will update and inform everyone if something needs to be moved. Reach out to me if you have any ideas on anything to do with this endeavor and please reach out to other brothers that might not have facebook anymore and wouldn't see this post.
Best of luck with the journey of adulthood brothers and as always Roll Pi.
