Thank You NATCA FacRep Kevin Bianchi
Donation protected
It is with a great sense of appreciation that I have set up a "Thank You Gift" GoFundMe page for ZBW FacRep Kevin Bianchi. No doubt, every NATCA Leader knows Kevin; his reputation is beyond reproach and it has been a personal privilege to work beside him.
Kevin is a very humble man and will probably disapprove of a collection to honor his dedication to his NATCA family not just at ZBW but across the country, but I feel it is an appropriate way for many to recognize his selfless and lifelong dedication to helping others. Although Kevin will not be retiring for a few months after the term is over, there is no better way to acknowledge and thank Kevin for his selflessness than to present him with a gift at the end of the term.
Kevin joined NATCA soon after being hired in 1988, having previously been a member of the Textile Workers Union; unionism is in his blood. Shortly after becoming a NATCA member, Kevin ran for and was elected as the Area C Representative. In 2000, Kevin was elected as NATCA ZBW's Vice President serving in that position until 2004. Kevin was then elected as NATCA Local ZBW's Facility Representative, a position which he has held for 8 consecutive two-year terms. Needless to say, when one thinks of ZBW NATCA they think of Kevin, for the two are synonymous.
Kevins dedication to NATCA truly knows no bounds. Kevin served as the New England Alternate Regional Vice President, and as both a member and Lead of the National Labor Relations Team. Kevin has served on the OWCP team, being named the National Chairman until 2017. After which he mentored the next chair. He has also represented NATCA as a member of the NEST Team.
As I previously stated, unionism is in his blood. Kevin was elected to serve on the NH AFL-CIO from 2007 to 2017, being an Executive Council Member from 2011 through 2017.
Throughout his NATCA career Kevin has undertaken to fulfill many duties and obligations beyond those required by the positions he has held. Kevin has without hesitation fulfilled each one, all the while keeping NATCA and our Locals best interest in mind. Kevin maintains an open door policy providing members direct access to him and other members of the Local Executive Board.
At the 2012 NATCA convention, Kevin was honored by fellow NATCA members when he was selected to receive the Tim Haines Memorial Award of Honor and Distinction, otherwise known as the “Timmy Award”. The Timmy is a special award bestowed upon NATCA members or employees who have done an exceptional job representing NATCA values. The traits by which describe Kevin are synonymous with those describing NATCA; strength, professionalism, unity. Listening to his acceptance speech further exemplified his dedication to our Union. Always selfless, Kevin stated that it was not him that deserved the award, rather it was the membership that makes us successful. Kevin continued by saying "it is not one person, rather the whole".
For those of us privileged enough to have worked alongside Kevin it has been an honor. Kevin’s NATCA activism exemplifies a lifelong commitment to others. Please take a moment, congratulate Kevin on his NATCA career. Thank him for his time, his effort, his focus, his dedication and his love for this Union. Kevin is and always has been the embodiment of the USMC' motto "Semper Fidelis", always faithful, always loyal.
From all of us at ZBW, thank you for your dedication and the sacrifices you and your family, your children Nicole, Garrett, and Olivia, have made. For the honest heartfelt respect and friendship you’ve shown members at ZBW and to NATCA brothers and sisters across the country, a simple thank you seems inadequate. However, it is hoped that you will recognize this simple statement as an honest and deeply sincere acknowledgement for all you give to others.
Personally, I thank you Kevin for being a mentor to me, for teaching me to seek answers, to do the right thing and to stand up for what you believe.
Thank you Kevin. You will be forever a role model to so many. It has been an honor.
