Hi GFM pals!
Our beloved Katrina is departing us for a new venture, and we are so sad to see her go.
Because I cannot emotionally handle goodbyes, with the assistance of Megan Healy and our ChatGPT pro account access, we had that lil robot crank out a fundraiser description in the style of Sally Rooney if she wrote DnD fantasy novels instead of heart-wrenching mumblecore:
Our party is losing a core player. They weren’t the loudest in the tavern, but when the battle came—real or emotional—they always rolled high on wisdom. Now they’re setting off on a solo quest, and we’re left behind with half a map, a healing potion they forgot to take, and the ache of unfinished conversations.
We’re raising gold to equip them for whatever dragons lie ahead. Not because we have to, but because we’d follow them through any campaign, and this is our way of saying: your story mattered in ours.
With the funds raised, we're planning on getting Kat the following as a departing thank you for all of the amazing work she's done while part of our crew:
- Cat-safe (or should I say Kat-safe?) flowers
- A gift card to The Little Knittery, a yarn supply store in LA: The Little Knittery
AND/OR (depending on the $ raised)
- A gift card to Skylight Books, a bookstore in her neighborhood (and in my humble opinion, one of the best bookstores in the country): Skylight Books
The funds raised will be going to me so I can purchase the above and have them sent to her directly! Ideally, everything will be purchased tomorrow, Thursday, May 22, as this is her last day at GFM.
