In Memory of Miro
Donation protected
Most of you know that Miro had a stroke in early April. He was fortunate to receive excellent care immediately as he bravely fought to heal. Various health challenges arose during his hospitalization and attempts at recovery. One of the main issues his family faced was the complexity of seeing him during this very challenging time. Hospitals are on lockdown due to #Covid-19 regardless of whether or not you've tested positive for the virus. After several treatments at a variety of hospitals, Miro was ultimately moved to the neurological ICU at Kaiser's Sunset campus. During his stay, the staff did their best to connect family and friends from around the world with Miro via FaceTime since in person visits are still currently prohibited. This was an invaluable tool for his entire family in Slovakia. After learning that this technology is unavailable to all patients that are fighting as hard as our Miro, we've created this fund to provide virtual access to all patients in the neurological ICU at Kaiser.
This fund goal is twofold. Costs associated with burial are substantial. So the fund goal will cover burial and transportation services and provide a donation to the hospital for their outstanding work to save our friend. The neurological ICU has 16 beds (all of which are currently full). We would like to dedicate one iPAD to each bed for all current and future patients as a thank you for the care Miro received during his stay and the memory of our friend.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all the love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you all in advance for your generosity and all the kindness and concern you've expressed over the past few weeks.
