My name is Saj Issa. I am a Palestinian-American student at UCLA pursuing my Masters of Fine Arts. As a token of appreciation for recovering this amazing opportunity, I wanted to support the gift of education to one (1) under-privileged Palestinian student pursuing higher education.
The financial resources for a college education in Palestine are very limited. Getting a job in Palestine is very competitive, especially under the ongoing occupation. In light of these obstacles, I’ve decided to establish a scholarship fund memorializing my late grandmother, Thamina Daher.
In the fall of 2020, I connected with a brilliant individual named Khadeja Nafi in Ramallah, Palestine. She is a 20-year-old student in her third year of studying accounting at Birzeit University. To finish her last year of university, Khadija needs financial assistance to cover tuition fees and graduate on time. Afterwards, she plans on getting a job at an accounting firm in Ramallah.
Birzeit University closes registration for the following term on January 27, 2021. The cost of Khadeja's last year of education is $3,200 USD.
I am confident that we can raise this amount before the deadline, so that there will be one more educated Palestinian! Thank you for your time and help.
