Dear Animal Lovers,
Meet Laura, a true hero for our feline friends in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. Her lifelong love for animals has led her on a beautiful journey of compassion and care.
In the spring, Laura embarked on a heartfelt mission, establishing the registered non-profit rescue, Thalia Barn Cat Rescue, where she opened her heart and home to countless stray and homeless cats and kittens in need. She tirelessly works day in and day out, providing them with the love, care, and attention they deserve. Her dedication is unparalleled, and her mission is clear - no furry friend is left behind.
From vetting, spaying and neutering, to TNR's (Trap-Neuter-Return), Laura's tireless efforts have already made a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of cats and kittens. She doesn't just stop at the healthy ones; she's always there for the injured and sick ones too, offering them a chance at a better life and doesn't hesitate to make the two-hour drive each way to the vet whenever one of her rescues needs care. However, the rising price of gas is making these trips increasingly expensive.
Laura doesn't receive any government funding. She solely finances the rescue operation through her personal means, including her own resources, savings, donations, and modest fundraising efforts.
Recently, a couple of her rescues have been through particularly tough times. One-eyed Boots underwent surgery, and the vet bill came to a total of $700. Buddy, a cat with a severe leg injury, is currently receiving ongoing care at the vet. His bill has already reached $793, and it's expected to increase, as he may require an amputation. And Skittles, a scared semi feral barn cat requires a surgery called ventral bulla osteotomy at a cost of $3000.
We're reaching out to all of you for support. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards the care, vet bills, and supplies needed to ensure these cats thrive.
Let's come together and show Laura and the countless cats & kittens who receive love and care at Thalia Barn Cat Rescue the support they deserve. Your contribution will make a world of difference for these furry friends who rely on the support and generosity from wonderful people like you.
With heartfelt thanks,
Alison B
