It is really vulnerable to ask for help- Thalia and Ruby have been hit with an unexpected tragedy. On Friday 9/19 Ruby’s back legs stopped working. Thalia took Ruby to UC Davis and found out she has a spinal cord injury that has caused paralysis in half of her body. She was admitted to the hospital that evening with a 50% chance of ever walking again. Ruby was taken in for an emergency spinal surgery the next day- she has been able to wag her tail but there have yet to be signs of movement in her back legs. Thalia was hit with an $11,000 vet bill. She refuses to ask her community for help so I am asking that we all show up for someone who serves her community daily. Ruby is her best friend and the road to recovery is going to be a long one. Ruby cannot move for 6 months nor can she use the bathroom on her own. I am hoping that we can all come together as a community to relieve some of this pressure on Thalia. They are both so worth it.
