The Thaitanium Project (Ti) is a re-bolting initiative based in Thailand's rock climbing mecca on the Phra Nang Peninsula, also known as Railay Bay or Tonsai Beach.
For the last 15 years the Ti has been an integral part of the re-bolting process on the Peninsula to replace the dangerous corroding steel bolts with Titanium. We have accomplished a lot in the last 15 years with successfully re-bolted around 2/3 of the routes throughout the Peninsula. We are the leading re-bolting initiative that deals with corrosion issues in sea side fix climbing protection. We are active in the science, innovation and testing to help find the best bolting solutions for the international climbing community. Over the years we have worked with the UIAA, ASCA, Titan Climbing, Access Fund and many others
100% of the funds raised go to the re-bolting efforts. Your generous contribution will help with the purchase with not only the Titanium bolts but also the necessary equipment to install the bolts as well as to remove the dangerous corroding steel bolts that are still in the rock. Drills, drill bits, epoxy, glue guns, glue tips, ropes, carabiners, grinders, cutting disks.....just to new a few.
We have had a few fund raising techniques over the years including selling the Thaitanium Project documentary film. We sold the film for $20 USD which is roughly the price to install a single Titanium bolt. It used to be available for down load on the website. I have decided to take the website down and to make the film for free on the new YouTube channel. If you enjoyed the film and would like to help out you can decide how much to give.
Go to the Youtube channel below and check out the film
