Hi, I’m Nhi. I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help raise money for Thai Truong.

on Thursday April 13, Thai was experiencing tightness of his chest, and had trouble breathing. He asked his coworker to take him to the ER. No one could have ever expected that a someone who worked out avidly, and ate healthy, someone who was lean, would be suffering a massive heart attack, at 38 years old.

His coworker took him to the emergency room at St. Thomas West in Nashville and he was immediately brought up to the cath lab for testing. Within the hour they determined that the only way to save his life was to do a bypass. There was a blood clot in his widow-maker and he was suffering from a massive heart attack.

He is now in ICU trying to recovery from the open heart surgery, and will have to stay there for at least 7-10 days.

The nurses informed me that he will not be able to be alone at all nor will he be able to go back to work for a few months, as the muscle in his chest will need to heal and he probably wouldn’t even be able put his arms and hands together to feed himself.

This GoFundMe will help pay towards Thai’s medical expenses and some of his bills while he is out of work as well as any assistance he may need to acquire when he returns home. Thai is unmarried and has no family here to help him with recovery except his 12 year old daughter Chloe and I. I work full time and she is in school. Once summer vacation starts Chloe will be able to sit with him and help him with with anything however, we may need to get him someone full time to aid in his recovery. Thai’s mother lives in Vietnam and is currently trying to apply for a Visa to come over and stay with him to care for him. That process will also be costly.

If you know Thai, you know that he would give anyone the shirt off his back, and be there without hesitation for any friend or family he’s got. He has always been a hard worker, and this time of recovery will be extremely tough as he will not be able to do much at all for quite a while.
