Thailand Orphanage - Khon Kaen

Many babies & children are placed into Thai orphanages. I was one of these babies. Some are lucky enough to be adopted, either locally or internationally, but many are left to spend their childhood in the ‘babies homes.’

I have returned to Thailand many times over the past 20 years and each time I have visited one of the orphanages with my family. My one memory from each of these visits is the sadness I saw on the faces of the kids. The trauma and long term mental health issues of living in an orphanage, without the one on one love and nurturing of a family, certainly affect child development and this is where I believe I can help.

As mentioned earlier, I was adopted from a Thai orphanage and I am now returning to Thailand, in my role as a Registered Music Therapist, to offer my knowledge and support to ‘my orphanage’ in Khon Kaen. I will speak to staff and help them to understand the fantastic benefits that music therapy will bring to the children. I will also have time with the kids in a music therapy environment. My goal is to bring lots of fun and happiness into their days and also instil a lifelong love of music.

TO DO THIS I NEED YOUR HELP.

I would like to buy a substantial number of music instruments that I can leave at the orphanage for the ongoing fun, learning and therapy of these beautiful children. I would also like to help with supplies of day to day essentials needed to run the orphanage. Things like powder, toilet paper, soap, nappies etc.
