The People of Thailand need your Help

Hi my name is Anthony, (my instagram @cheftonyburd ) and I am creating this Go Fund Me to help my immediate "family and friends" living and working in Thailand.
I live and work in Thailand currently, but left to American to get the vaccine and raise funds. 

We plan on using the money 50% to help our team able to cope with the government Lockdown which has been going on and off all year with no help from the government. Currently the Lockdown has been extended until the end of September with possibility to extend yet again.

The other 50% we will help local communities, providing and cooking hot meals who are at the verge of starvation. Also providing the necessities that are unavailable elsewhere for families in need.

The Thailand government has not provided ANY support at all to their people and we would like to help fill the gap and provide help to my friends and family friends who are in need.

We plan to use the money directly buy necessities and cook meals for and deliver them directly to the local communities.

The Government closures have been going on since the end of June, and is extended until the end of September....Possibly longer. Currently we have a curfew at 9pm-4am and all restaurant(restaurants have to close at 8pm), only grocery stores are allowed to open at the moment. Thousands unemployed with no help from the government. People are dying from covid, as we don't have vaccines as widely available like other countries, but more so they are suffering and dying from starvation.

 

 

First, Covid-19 has swept though Thailand once again in a third wave. Its hard to gasp the devastation that has hit Thailand. but with the collapse of our healthcare system and the third wave of the corona virus currently ravaging the country, things seem to be getting worse.

 

 

Its impacting the countries most vulnerable the most, driving them into economic hardship and despair with suicide rates climbing.

 

Thais everywhere for the first time in their lives, are witnessing things they have never seen before. People out on the streets, left homeless, out of jobs, and asking for food. An elderly woman woman sitting on the pavement floor in the pouring rain, sobbing as she pouring the death of her mother to covid-19 and awaits an entire day to get tested.

 

A dejected middle age taxi driver, alone in his car crying as he only earned enough to get b y with gas after a whole day of driving. the countries youth, having their childhood ripped from them, risking their lives to protest for democracy and their futures.

 

A term has come up lately is "Pandemic Fatigue" said Amonthep 'Sanju' Sachamuneewongse, a mental health advocate and founder of @mindfulsati, a peer support network and mental health service application based in Thailand

We are asking for any help that anyone is willing to provide with this gofundme, Regrettably my friends, family and the people of Thailand will be suffering financial problems as we try to get through this tragedy of covid-19.

 

We would greatly appreciate anything anyone can give and are not asking for any specific amount but we really need the help during this dark time. Any money donated would go toward helping the staff, ( as little as $1 will help to provide 3 meals) with covid relief and as well as helping our community and the people around.
