Thad’s New Running Chair

Many of you recognize Jake and Thad as active runners in the community. Always smiling as they cross the finish line. But you may not know the back story of Thad and Jake's journey.
Jake lives in Harpers Ferry with his wife, daughter, and son - Thad. Thad turns 9 years old in March. He was born with a rare disorder which causes him to be unable to walk or speak and he has frequent seizures. Despite it all, Thad is an alert and sweet boy who loves to be moving outside.
Starting in 2016, Jake and Thad have run together as a wheelchair push team. They train running the hills of Harpers Ferry in the warmer months, and participate in the Harpers Ferry Half Marathon and Freedom's Run events each year. Here's a video of Jake and Thad's first marathon in 2016
Thad has grown out of the modified jogging stroller they've used the past few years, so they are looking for a chair that provides Thad with full-body support and gives Jake the ability to run with proper form and avoid running injuries.
That's where we need your help. Everyone deserves the opportunity to run; Thad's new chair will allow him to hit the trails comfortably and enjoy the outdoors he loves so much. Watching his face light up in his racing/ running chair is always so special to witness.
