International Medical Relief--Nepal

Donation protected
Hi everyone--
International Medical Relief  (IMR) is responding to the devasting earthquake in Nepal with four mobilizations of medical and professional responders between May 1 and May 31st.  I will be going with Team 2, working alongside medical professionals to help in the smaller communities that have no access to medical care. Our focus will be on immediate and continuous medical care, as well as providing post-disater education to limit the public health impact of diseases such as cholera and typhoid.

IMR missions are entirely self funded. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will assist me in helping the men, women, and children who were directly impacted by this devestating earthquake. All funds received will go toward my costs associated with the travel, time in, and medical supplies I bring in to Nepal. Any additional funds will be given to IMR for the work they will continue to do after my time on the ground is done.

Please allow me to share a bit more information about myself-- I have been on three medical humanitarian trips with IMR (India 2012, Cambodia 2012, and Haiti 2014). I also interned with them as part of my MPH program where I also completed concentrations in Health Education & Promotion and Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation.

If you would like to know where your money is going, please rest assured that I will be more than happy to confirm the final amounts spent to ensure my safe travel to Nepal and all funds donated to IMR.  My payment to IMR on Sunday night was $3400. This ensured me a spot on Team 2 that leaves May 8th and returns to the US on May 17th. Funds raised will cover that cost already spent, my malpractice insurance, and any costs I may pay bringing medical supplies to Nepal. I will be happy to maintain as much transparency in these fees as you wish. All monies raised beyond these three personal costs, will be withdrawn from this fund upon my return and sent directly to IMR to further support their ongoing work in Nepal that will be taking place through June.

If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to inquire at any time. I hope to provide updates on IMRs travel plans (within the parameters set by IMR to ensure the safety of all teams) and my personal preparation as time allows.  Upon my return, I will share my experiences as time permits.

Thank you for your support-- it is truly and deeply appreciated.
